Who the heck are the Sunshine Lovers?
The Sunshine Lovers are a group of characters from the rhythm game series Pop'n Music. As they are all from super groovy songs composed by Shunsuke Kida under the alias "Kiddy & Sunshine Lovers," that's what these guys are collectively called! The card you see below pretty much solidifies that! c:
We got Wacky, the cool boyo with a funky scarf (who has pet pandas for some reason), glam rock icon W.B. Rose, the charming alien Prince M (or as I call him, "Space Dad"), a virtual kiddo that is really named Really (really!), and THE SKELETON APPEARS... that's Ted=Pete! (you don't pronounce the equal sign it's supposed to be a bone pls stop asking me)
They may not have as much content and hype as Deuil or Tsugidoka, but they still have their own lil' cult following. I should know, I am part of the cult following, haha!
Okay, cool, but why them????
So in the beginning of 2022, a close friend of mine was really getting into Prince M and she did a super fun Pop'n Music stream on Discord. At the time, my favorite Pop'n character was Hot. D, fun fact! I was still very new to the series, and my limited access to the games didn't help (thankfully this isn't an issue for me anymore!). After chatting with my pal and our other pals, something happened.
Here's where my descent into madness started!
I realized "oh wait a minute, this Really kiddo is kinda cool - oh and they're friends with the guy my friend likes! OH AND THESE OTHER GUYS TOO??" and then I started makings silly little headcanons about the Sunshine Lovers... that became much more elaborate as time went on, to the point where my brainrot for them became something special to me. Now here I am, making a crazy little site where I can gush about them and show the art I've made of them!
It's hard to pin-point the exact reason I love these guys to such a degree, but I think it's because they all have such striking designs full of personality, and I love that there's this crazy bunch of friends who are full of good vibes. Oh, and their songs are amazing too! Pop'n Music in general is a series full of that, and these just so happen to become the ones I'm the most attached to. I pour my heart and soul into them, hehe.
